Midtable Bundesliga side FC Koln has made a move for young striker Sehrou Guirassy, signing the French youth international to a five-year deal that runs through 2021.

Guirassy, 20, makes the move after just one season with Lille, joining the North Rhine-Westphalian side for an undisclosed fee, Koln announced Wednesday.

Koln boss Peter Stoger appears set to give Guirassy something that escaped him at the Stade Pierre-Maufoy: playing time.

"Sehrou Guirassy is a direct forward with an eye for goal and a clinical finish. Guirassy is a central striker, but he can also play on the wings. His appearances for the youth sides of the French national team are proof that he has been well trained," Stoger said Wednesday.

Despite making eight appearances in the season's first half for Les Dogues, Guirassy was loaned to second division side Auxerre during the January window. There, the striker scored eight times in 16 matches, prompting interest from Koln.

His displays at Auxerre were paired with a strong showing with the French Under-20 side during May's Toulon tournament, where Guirassy scored three times, good enough for joint second-best with Chelsea prodigy Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
