Wolfsburg signs Yannick Gerhardt from Koln for reported €13M
Yannick Gerhardt is making a three-hour drive down the Bundesautobahn 2.
VfL Wolfsburg made its third signing for the next Bundesliga season on Friday, as Gerhardt joined Wolves from 1. FC Koln, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Green-Whites that binds him to the club until June 30, 2021.
Gerhardt is joining Wolfsburg for €13 million, according to DW Sports.
"I am delighted at the possibility of taking the next step in my career with VfL Wolfsburg," Gerhardt said. "Discussions with Klaus Allofs and Dieter Hecking convinced me that VfL provide me with the best chances of developing as a footballer. I want to help the team to break back into the top group of teams in the Bundesliga next season and establish themselves there for the long haul."
Gerhardt, a product of Koln's youth team, made 29 Bundesliga appearances last season, tallying two goals and four assists to help the Billy Goats to their highest league finish in 24 years.
