Dortmund's Aubameyang misses cup semi against Hertha

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not on the team sheet for Wednesday's DFB-Pokal semi-final clash with Hertha Berlin as the Gabonese international recovers from a toe injury.

The 34-goal Aubameyang, 26, was initially expected to make the squad after Dortmund boss Tuchel's comments on Tuesday.

"Aubameyang took a hit to his toe in training, which was very painful, but it shouldn't be an issue for Wednesday," assured Tuchel.

In Aubameyang's absence, Colombian Adrian Ramos will start up top in Die Borussen's lethal three-prong attack alongside Marco Reus and Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the Olympia Stadion in Berlin.

Ramos has appeared in 23 league matches this year, but only five as a starter, scoring eight times paired with one tally in two cup fixtures.

Pressure will be on Tuchel's lot to make the final for the second consecutive year, with last year's defeat to Wolfsburg the club's fourth cup finals loss since 1962-63. The winner of today's fixture will face Bavarian giant Bayern Munich in the final, after Pep Guardiola's side bested Werder Bremen 2-0 on Tuesday.
