Lopez leaves Villarreal for Sevilla
Seville, Spain (Sports Network) - Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez has left the club for Sevilla, it was announced on Wednesday.
The move comes after Villarreal was relegated from La Liga on the final day of the season after a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Lopez joined the Yellow Submarine from Real Madrid in the summer of 2007 and helped the team finish second in La Liga in his first season at El Madrigal.
But the 30-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Sevilla for an undisclosed fee after starting 37 of 38 league games in goal for Villarreal this past season.
