Our Personalities

Official Title: Anchor - The Footy Show

Birthplace: Sevenoaks, England

Started at The Score: April 1997

Jobs in sports/TV that you had before this one:
I am a Score baby, it has nurtured me, and raised me into the fine upstanding person I am! Perhaps social services should be called!

High point of your career so far:
Meeting Pele, and getting to sit beside a true legend each Friday in Brian Budd.

Who is your favourite sports broadcaster and why?
Des Lynam - I grew up watching him on BBC Grandstand; credible, funny, and a great 'stache.

What type of goals have you set for yourself in the future (i.e. work, travel, family, etc.)?
I'd love to score from a bicycle kick while playing for The Score United.

Most memorable interview/broadcasting moment?
Meeting and interviewing the New Zealand All Blacks during my excursion to the Far East and New Zealand. Very cool guys, very cool country, and it gave The Footy Show a truly globetrotting presence.

What has been your biggest blooper/most embarrassing moment on air?
Remember to watch The Footy Show, 5:30pm ET and 7pm ET Monday to Friday.

If you weren't in Sports Media, what other occupation do you think you'd have?
Anna Kournikova's masseur.

Is this the career you dreamed of when you were little?
My dream was to play the sports that I now report on. Although I still have hope to one day crack Liverpool's starting XI.

Pet peeve about this industry:
We are not allowed to bring our pets to work.

What event or occurrence made you want to work in the sports television industry?
When I finally realized that I had absolutely no talent at playing sports.

Special interests?
Rugby, cooking, travel, devising new workout programs and then never actually completing them.

What are your favourite restaurants/pubs to hang out in?
Anywhere that knows how to pour a good Guinness.

If you could be a pro athlete, which sport and why?
Definitely hockey. As an Englishman I have always dreamt at what it must be like to be able to skate - unfortunately my heritage means that will never become a reality. If not hockey, then a professional snooker player for obvious reasons. Soccer wouldn't be bad either because I could marry a girl from a manufactured pop group.

Who is your favourite pro athlete?
Steve Davis, professional snooker player, 7 time World Champion, first televised 147 (Lada Cars Classic, 1982) and affectionately known as the 'ginger nugget' or Steve 'interesting' Davis.

Five desert island CDs?
"A Night at the Opera" - Queen
"Made in Heaven" - Queen
"Standing on a Beach" - The Cure
"The Bends" - Radiohead
"The Wall" - Pink Floyd
and one more - "Tonight they were the delicious Wolves" - Hawksley Workman

What's your favourite movie?
The Deer Hunter, True Romance, Spice World, The Footy Show - The Movie.

Who is your favourite actor/actress?
Francesco Totti

What's your favourite TV show?
The Footy Show.

Favourite quote/motto/words to live by:
"Wasn't me!"

What comments do you have about/for the viewing audience?
Just because I rip a certain player does not mean that I hate an entire nation!
