Our Personalities

Official Title:Anchor

Birthplace: Toronto, ON (spent my formative years in Kingston)

Started at The Score: April 2003

Jobs in sports/TV that you had before this one:
Associate Producer for Sportscentre at TSN. Co-host of Omniculture and Bollywood Boulevard at Omni.

High point of your career so far:
N/A. You'll be the first to know when I get there.

Accomplishments?
Again, the better question would be 'Failures?' Then I'm writing a ten-volume set.

Who is your favourite sports broadcaster and why?
Huge props to the father and son tandem of Jack and Joe Buck, but the king of them all is the mega-talented Keith Olbermann. At both ESPN and FOX Sports, Olbermann showed off his brilliant writing skills, and revolutionized sportscasting with his intelligence and smarmy wit. Consider me a card-carrying Olbermanniac.

What type of goals have you set for yourself in the future (i.e. work, travel, family, etc.)?
Staying employed is enough of a hurdle.

Most memorable interview/broadcasting moment?
See above.

What has been your biggest blooper/most embarrassing moment on air?
This is kind of a daily occurrence.

Is this the career you dreamt of when you were little?
No, I aspired to be the lead in My Fair Lady. The dress didn't fit-I had to quit.

If you weren't in sports media, what other occupation do you think you'd have?
I think I'd be effective as Derek Jeter's chauffeur.

What is your biggest pet peeve about this industry?
The enormous amount of unsung talented people I have to work with on a daily basis…making it clear how insignificant my role really is. Thanks guys!

What are your special interests/hobbies?
Fly-fishing, needlepoint, a little bocce, you know the usual.

Do you have a favourite T.O. restaurant/club/pub/store?
Hollywood Renaissance. Like a kid in a candy store.

If you could be a pro athlete, which sport would you play and why?
Shortstop for the Yankees. In honour of Phil Rizzuto.

Who is you favourite pro athlete of all time?
A shout-out to John Starks, Randall Cunningham, Muhammad Ali, Joe DiMaggio and Ron Hextall but no one combines clutch with class like the all-world Derek Jeter.

What's your favourite movie?
Raging Bull and Taxi Driver. Depends if I feel a stronger kinship with a sadomasochistic boxer or a lonely cabbie out for vengeance.

Who is your favourite actor/actress?
Let's just go back to April 25, 1940 in the South Bronx. The birth of the electrifying Alfredo James Pacino.

What's your favourite TV show?
Drama: Homicide: Life on the Street, OZ
Comedy: The Larry Sanders Show.

Any favourite quote/motto/words to live by?
You step outta line, you get whacked. Seems to be an effective motto for all occupations.

What comments do you have about/for the viewing audience?
Have patience because I can't possibly get any worse. And please send money.
