Cardinals' Marmol frustrated by offensive struggles: 'It sucks'
St. Louis Cardinals manager Oli Marmol is growing tired of his team's struggles at the plate.
The Cardinals are 29th in the league in runs scored, home runs, and OPS this season.
"It sucks. Bottom line, it just does," Marmol said following Sunday's loss to the Chicago White Sox, according to The Athletic's Katie Woo.
The Cardinals dropped two of three games at home to the White Sox, scoring nine runs in the process. St. Louis is 15-19 on the season and enters play Monday in last place in the NL Central.
Several Cardinals players are slumping at the plate. Veteran first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, outfielder Lars Nootbaar, and infielder Nolan Gorman have all struggled with their bats through the first six weeks of the season.

"These are the players we’re going to win with," Marmol said. "We have to get them going."
The Cardinals will look to turn things around when they open up a three-game series at home against the New York Mets on Monday night.
