Celtics' Stevens named NBA's Executive of the Year
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has won the NBA's Executive of the Year award, the league announced Tuesday.
Stevens is in his third campaign as a member of Boston's front office after spending eight years as the team's head coach.
The Celtics' 64-18 regular-season record was the highest in the NBA in 2023-24.
Stevens notably sent former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies so Boston could acquire forward Kristaps Porzingis in a three-team deal last offseason.
The former Butler Bulldogs bench boss also made a big swing when he made a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers for two-time All-Star Jrue Holiday. Holiday signed a four-year, $135-million extension with the Celtics earlier this month.
This is Stevens' first time being named the top executive in the league.
The 47-year-old beat out the Oklahoma City Thunder's Sam Presti and Tim Connelly of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the award.
